As any parent knows, getting kids to play outside can be challenging. In a world of electronic entertainment. However, there are many good reasons why you should encourage your kids to spend time outdoors, playing in a cubby house, swing set,  sandpits and bouncy castles. For one thing, playing outside can help them to stay active and get much-needed exercise. It can also help them to develop coordination and motor skills. Moreover, playing outside in a cubby house, can boost their imagination and creativity. So next time your kids ask to stay inside and play video games, suggest they go outside and play in their Cubby House instead!

The Barra Shack is our largest ground level cubby house with an overall size of 2400mm  x 2400mm. There are two opening windows to the sides, with shop shelves and closed windows to the front, all with perspex. The Barra includes a large 900mm wide verandah with fence, letterbox and two planter boxes. Internal dimensions of the cubby space is 1300mm x 2200mm.

Premium Timber Canadian Hemlock and/or Fir Wood.

Steam treated timber which limits against rot, fungal decay and insect attack. KidzShack Cubby houses are not chemically treated for insects.

Easy Assembly! Our cubbies come with pre-made panels & pre-drilled holes. Assembly generally takes 2-3 hours with 2 people and a battery drill.

Our cubbies are painted with a temporary water-based stain. The Barra Shack is supplied in a grey/white water based stain as shown in the last images. Please note: stained water based colours may differ or change. We recommend painting your cubby house with two coats of primer and two coats of a durable outdoor paint from Taubmans for longevity, within 4 weeks of outdoor use.
